Volkswagen Transporter 4Motion®
Volkswagen have designed an innovative all wheel drive system for the Transporter called 4Motion®. Designed to provide safe road holding across adverse road conditions, 4Motion® should reduce accidents and increase safety especially under braking.
The 4Motion® system reacts to the slightest of wheel slippages and redistributes power and drive to those wheels that have the most secure grip. Linked to the engine management system via sensors these controls take place in milliseconds.
For even more extreme conditions all Transporters fitted with 4Motion® also benefit from a locking rear differential. Controlled by a dash-mounted switch this provides increase traction by controlling any loss of traction on a rear wheel.
4Motion® is also compatible with the standard ABS. In addition, the 130PS 4Motion® window van model is equipped with ESP as standard. Another useful feature, the spare wheel is fitted under the load bed that gives maximum carrying space for your cargo.
4Motion® is available on 130PS T30 short wheelbase and long wheelbase panel vans and window vans.
