Space

When it comes to versatility, the Volkswagen Transporter panel van is virtually unbeatable. After all, it’s been designed to handle a wide variety of tasks and with cargo areas extending from 5.9m3 to 9.3m3 and payloads from 800kg to 1,400kg, there’s a model to cater for almost every specialist load.

Inside the cab there are storage bins in both doors, an overhead shelf, a lockable glovebox and a deep wide mesh pocket on the passenger side of the facia. There’s even a pop-out holder to take care of a couple of cups or cans.

Depending on your requirements, the Transporter van can be supplied with a short wheelbase and a low or medium roof, or as a long wheelbase with a low, medium or high roof.

Safety

With an Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Differential Lock and Traction Control System, the Volkswagen Transporter offers a complete safety package.This is complemented by Engine Braking Control which prevents the driving wheels breaking away on slippery surfaces.

The 130PS window van with 4MOTION® all wheel drive system is equipped with Electronic Stabilisation Programme plus a brake assist system for added safety and this is available as an option on all window van models of 130PS upwards.

A driver’s airbag comes standard, as do 3-point belts on all seats, while in-cab safety options include a front passenger airbag plus two side and two curtain airbags.

The 85PS 1.9 TDI PD and 104PS 1.9 TDI PD 4 cylinder units, both with a 5-speed manual gearbox
The 130PS 2.5 TDI PD 5 cylinder engine, which comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox, 6-speed Tiptronic gearbox or 6-speed manual gearbox with the 4MOTION® all wheel drive system
The 174PS 2.5 TDI PD 5 cylinder engine, which has a 6-speed manual gearbox
